Support groups

Our support groups began in 2021, run initially on a voluntary basis. As demand grew we were awarded a lottery grant via Hereford Pride, we continue to run our groups in central Hereford and also provide ongoing one-to-one support and advocacy for over 30 young people and their families.

Alongside the core support-group activity, we also organise activities and trips to help our members bond, gain confidence and, over time, begin to naturally access and re-engage with the wider Herefordshire community.

Another popular aspect of the groups are our ‘connection’ events, introducing our young people to local employment support, trans-friendly services such as hairdressers, voice coaches and beauty clinics and introducing local shops, cafes and other venues that are inclusive and welcoming to the community.

We hope to bring our groups to other towns in Herefordshire soon, if you are interested in helping us set up a group in your area, please get in touch.

Hereford Youth Group (16-25)

Our youth group for 16-25 year olds takes place twice a month in central Hereford, providing a safe space for members to share experiences, meet others and enjoy a supportive and welcoming community.

Hereford Family Group

Our family group is aimed at family members living with LGBTQAI+ young people and looking for support and advice in managing emotionally difficult situations and those wishing to learn more about the community and how to be a supportive ally.
